Why I Simplified Everything Down to Four Steps

July 4, 2025 · 5 min read

I had a ten-step routine that I completed, in full, roughly twice a month.
Four steps done daily beat it in every way that mattered.
Short lines. Real lessons. Read it on your phone in five minutes.
And if you make it to the end, I'll tell you the one thing that finally made this easier for me.
None of this is medical advice. It's my own experience plus general skincare education — anything health-related belongs in a conversation with a clinician who knows you.
Cleanse
Gently. Twice a day is plenty.
Hydrate
The step I used to skip and now never do.
Protect
Sunscreen in the morning. Every morning.
Take it to the neck
Two extra seconds. Genuinely that's it.
“The long routine was aspirational. The short one was real.”
So here's the part I promised at the top.
Four steps only works if each one is easy to keep, which is exactly the standard I hold anything I add to.
For me that meant stopping the search for a miracle and picking something simple I'd actually keep doing. Addie Health is where I landed, and it's the thing I point friends to when they ask what I'd start with.
It isn't magic and I won't pretend it is. It's just one less decision on a day that already has plenty.
